Yu Makes A Difference At RMS

By Brittany L.

Most Eighth Graders know Mrs. Julie Yu because she is a social studies teacher, but did you know that she has taught at RMS for sixteen years?  Yu is a teacher because she wants to make a difference and feels it is the absolute best part of teaching.

She has attended several schools as which include USC, California State Long Beach, and California State Dominguez Hills.

Although she has taught at high schools and middle schools, she enjoys teaching Eighth Grade the most because she says, “They reach a sense of maturity”.

Outside of RMS, Ms. Yu likes spending time with her family, doing crafts, watching America’s Got Talent, Law and Order, and eating sushi. Her favorite vacation spot is Hawaii. Her favorite color is purple and her favorite book is The Notebook. Her favorite movie is Sixteen Candles.

Yu’s biggest pet peeve is gum chewing. She has two daughters and if she wasn’t teaching, she would volunteer some place.

Now you know a little more about one of our many social studies teachers at RMS, who truly makes a difference.
