Who likes purple? Ms. Saira Hirji (Pronounced Her gee) does! Hirji is a new ELA teacher for sixth and seventh grade. She also teaches Study Skills and ELA Intervention.
“[The best thing about teaching is] seeing the students have Aha! Moments and seeing them make progress,” said Hirji.
In her free time, she watches movies, reads books, spends time with he

Hirji attended Santa Monica College, CSU Long Beach, and Loyola Marymount University. Her favorite books are The Hunger Games and Memoirs of a Geisha. She likes vacationing at Zacatecas and Acapulco (both in Mexico) and she likes watching The Big Bang Theory and I Love Lucy. Her favorite movie is The Little Rascals; her favorite food is Korean BBQ.
Hirji loves to play board games, has two dogs that she loves spending time with (one lives with her and another one lives with her parents), and has been to five out of seven continents and loves to travel.
“I love RMS so far. The students and staff have all been very welcoming and helpful, and I really enjoy coming in every day,” said Hirji.
Something you may not know about Hirji is that she was married just a couple of weeks ago. We look forward to seeing those wedding pictures soon.
Let’s all make her welcome at Richardson Middle School!
